Reading, Outdoor, Creativity, Knowledge, Self- discoveryOur Studio R.O.C.K.S. program offers academic support and before and after-school enrichment activities (drop-off and pick-up) to children at Harriet Tubman and HD Cooke elementary schools, as well as full-day services when schools are closed for professional development for teachers. For the DMV area (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia), we offer winter, mid-winter, spring, and summer camps for children ages 4-10 (Pre-K - 4th grade).
Our goal is to provide students with meaningful and impactful programming focused on academic enrichment, self-discovery and creative exploration, all in a bilingual and multicultural environment. As an after-school program, Studio R.O.C.K.S. also allows parents to pursue educational and career advancement with the confidence that their children are in a safe and stable environment under the supervision of caring adults.
Program Highlights
- Mother's Day Celebration, with the help from the Cornelia T Bailey Foundation, students were able to create a heartfelt presentation for Mother's Day. Through song, they were able to express their gratitude for their mom's and/or mother figures and for all the hard work they do.
- Aqui Todos Cabemos
- Students created their own costumes and performed in English, Spanish, and Amharic
- Cultural Immersion event honoring Nelson Mandela, attended by then-Ambassador of South Africa Ebrahim Rasool and the Coyaba African Dance Theatre
- Students created their own costumes and performed alongside Broadway actress Chondra La-Tease Profit in celebration of multiculturalism through dance numbers showcasing African cultural art pieces.
- Winter Wonderland Pageant
